Written by It’s been an exciting year so far here at IQPC Exchange in Tampa and we wanted to give thanks to one specific “team” for their contribution.
At IQPC Exchange Tampa, we recognize that our people are core to our success and therefore employee engagement is a top priority. This is the main goal and focus for our Tampa Culture Club, who come together to brainstorm and develop employee programs, actions, and events, aligned to our mission, purpose, and values.
Our Culture Club committee is truly diverse, built up of individuals from each department (HR, Operations, Delegate Sales, Sponsorship Sales, Production and Marketing) and each level. This “team” is commonly known as the “Company Cheerleaders” and they meet monthly to plan philanthropy/wellness programs, company outings, happy hours, and new internal programs to help grow the company culture.
They’ve had a great 2019 and as they are busy finalizing new initiatives for Q4, we wanted to look back on some of their highlights so far this year!
Their first big success for 2019 was an amazing philanthropy event on Valentine’s Day which teamed up with the Tampa Bay Humane Society (HSTB). The theme was “Puppy Love” and a donation drive called the “Bark Box”, which focused on giving both money and supplies. These were presented to HSTB at our office when they also brought in 5 adorable puppies that were up for adoption!
Not only did the team donate over the expected goal, but cupid did his job too, as all 5 puppies found new homes with our employees. A fantastic valentines day result!
That same month, the team surprised one of our Senior Managers with an “Office Bridal Shower” just weeks before she tied the knot, to show her everyone’s appreciation and excitement for her and her soon to be husband!
In March, the team found new ways to compete and challenge each other (not just on the sales floor) when the Culture Club brought a little “March Madness” to the office by hosting a NCAA Bracket Challenge!
To kick off “the madness” the team closed the office early with a St. Paddy’s Day Happy Hour at the Irish Pub, needless to say, everyone had a great time!
We then wrapped up Q1 with our Quarterly Company Outing to the MLB Spring Training Game and watched the Philadelphia Phillies take on the Detroit Tigers at Spectrum Stadium in Clearwater, Florida. We thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon out of the office mingling with coworkers and celebrating a successful Q1!
In Q2 and Q3, the Culture Club went all out for “National Food Days” where they provided the office with fun pick-me-ups to celebrate National Oreo Day, National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, and everyone’s favorite: National Grilled Cheese Day – with our Director of Operations, Kayla MacArthur on the griddle!
They even celebrated Flag Day with Tampa’s Annual BBQ Potluck held right in the office!
We’re looking forward to the fall as the Culture Club has lots of great activities planned, including fundraising for “The Making Strides Walk” supporting Breast Cancer Awareness, and our annual Tampa Softball Team Game. Plus we plan to finish Q3 with a company outing to Dave and Busters which is coming soon in September!
We’ve had a lot of fun so far; so once again a huge thank you to our amazing Culture Club and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
