Meet Janina, Inbound Sales Director, IQPC Berlin
When did your IQPC career begin? October 2012
What initially attracted you to join the conference industry? I come from the tourism industry and winded up in sales afterwards. I like selling intangible products that you can bring alive through your own sales skills. Also I have an academic background with event management; therefore conferences fall into my field of passion.
And why IQPC? I already came across IQPC when I lived in London, back then I applied there as conference producer right out of Uni, when I then came across the add for a sales position after moving to Berlin, I replied right away
What do you think is unique about working at IQPC? You can learn so much about so many industries, and you never stop learning and developing your personal skills
What do you enjoy about IQPC life? The people, the working atmosphere, international English speaking environment, and the career development opportunities
What lessons have you learnt during your time here? That you can achieve a lot with motivation, ambition and hard work. But also that you need to make yourself visible and let others know about your achievements, you need to stick up your hand if you want to get further.
How has your career developed since you started with us? I started as sales rep in the inbound department, due to good sales numbers and liking to take on extra responsibilities, I quickly became senior sales manager and mentor for other new starters. After about 2 years I was promoted to leading the Inbound Sales team end 2014 which I am still doing and highly enjoy
What’s next? What do you think the next year will hold for you and for the business? To establish the strongest Inbound Sales team we have ever had and to keep polishing my management skills
What advise would you give to a new employee? Work hard, play hard. You can create your own luck in this company
